Sean is currently Associate Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe. Where he has directed The Tempest, Hamlet, Metamorphosis, Twelfth Night , Richard IUI , Henry VIL and A Midsummer Nights Dream. Prior to this he was the Artistic Director of the Lyric Hammersmith.

In 2016 Sean directed The Plough and the Stars (Abbey Theatre, Dublin & Irish/US Tour). Sean was an Associate Director of the Oxford Stage Company from 2001 to 2006 and has also worked at the National Theatre, RSC, Tricycle, Royal Court, Donmar Warehouse, Chichester Festival Theatre and the Abbey Theatre, Dublin.
